The University of Jaffna entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Birmingham, UK. The MOU was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, Sri Lanka. The community-survey is implemented through a mobile data collection process called &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.project-redcap.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>REDCap<\/b><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; to get the general health data, related health care cost and risk status for AF.\u00a0 A mobile-based single lead ECG called &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alivecor.com\/\"><b>Alivecor &#8211; Kardia<b><\/b><\/b><\/a>&#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is taken from all participants laboratory investigations for basic and novel biomarkers to evaluate the risk and prognosis will be done. Bio samples will be stored using cryo banking and from these baseline data sub cohorts and nested case control studies will take place.<\/span>\n\n\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: management pathway and adopting an existing acute care mHealth platform through\u00a0 co-production with patients, healthcare professionals and managers to enable integrated community-based AF 400;\"><\/span>\n<br>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Evaluation of existing AF management pathway is done with the possible key stakeholders\u00a0 through\u00a0 pathway mapping, focus group discussions and interviews via qualitative and quantitative studies.\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the AF pathway mapping data, a comprehensive mHealth platform will be implemented at the health care settings in an iterative process manner through consecutive adoptive evaluations to manage AF. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The existing acute care platform fuses mobile data entry with visual analytics from acute care facilities nationwide to provide patient and health services information up to 90 days following discharge. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Built for smart-phones using Android technology, the platform has been co-designed and co-evaluated\u00a0 in partnership with multidisciplinary clinical and administrative teams, highlighting the platform\u2019s adaptive interconnectivity. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alongside in-application visualization, real-time information regarding patient acuity, activity and measures of care quality are displayed in dashboards, facilitating stakeholder driven\u00a0 care evaluation and resource prioritization. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The research team will\u00a0 partner\u00a0 with\u00a0 Guo\u00a0 and team\u00a0 on\u00a0 expertise\u00a0 from\u00a0 the\u00a0 pilot\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mAFa<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 (mobile Atrial Fibrillation application) trial and the ongoing mAFa II outcome trial testing the ABC pathway in China (Lip Co-PI), to modify the platform\u2019s functionality to\u00a0 include decision support tools\u00a0 for\u00a0 AF,\u00a0 chronic\u00a0 disease specific data capture and multi-user synchronized communication.
